Geoclass Surveying Calculator
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
This policy applies to Geoclass Surveying Calculator for Android
(org.project.geoclass), operated by Edip Ahmet Taşkın
(also listed as Edip Ahmet Taskin). I am responsible for the personal information processed
under my control, as described below. “We” and “our” refer to this developer, not to Google.
Contact: geosoft66@gmail.com.
You do not need a Geoclass account. Survey projects and calculations are stored and processed on your device. Online maps, advertising and purchase verification involve network services. Google Play handles payments; Geoclass does not receive your payment-card details.
1. Your projects, files and location
Geoclass works with the coordinates, measurements, settings and project files you enter or import. The purchase-verification server does not receive your survey database or imported project files.
File import, export and sharing use the files and destinations you choose. If you share a file with another app, email service or storage provider, that recipient handles it under its own practices. Copies you export or share are separate from Geoclass's local data.
Location permission lets location-based tools show your position and perform related calculations. You can change this permission in Android settings. Denying it can prevent current-position features; it does not stop you entering coordinates manually. Displaying an online map around your position can disclose that area to the map provider.
2. Online maps
Map services receive requests for the area being displayed, together with your IP address and technical connection information. At close zoom levels, a map centred on you can reveal your location quite precisely. A map request does not upload your entire project.
Depending on the map or tool selected, Geoclass uses services from OpenFreeMap, Esri and OpenStreetMap Foundation. Their linked notices explain their processing and retention practices. You can avoid these requests by not using online-map features.
3. Advertising and privacy choices
The ad-supported app uses Google AdMob and Unity Ads mediation. Advertising services process information such as IP-derived approximate location, device or advertising identifiers, device/software details, ad views and interactions, and performance diagnostics. Unity's disclosures also cover purchase history and, depending on configuration, app-usage information. These services use information to deliver and measure advertising, analyse performance and prevent fraud.
Geoclass uses Google's consent tools to present advertising choices where required. You can revisit available choices through Privacy Settings in the app and manage your advertising ID in Android settings. Declining personalised advertising does not necessarily stop the technical processing involved in non-personalised advertising or security.
Ad-Free stops Geoclass displaying its advertisements. It does not disable online maps, purchase verification or services you choose to use.
More information: Google Privacy Policy, Google's use of information from partner apps and Unity Privacy Policy.
4. Ad-Free purchases and automatic restoration
Ad-Free is an optional one-time purchase, not a subscription. Google Play processes payment and manages purchase ownership. Geoclass does not receive your card number or security code.
To verify or restore Ad-Free, the app sends a purchase token, a Play Integrity token and a request identifier over HTTPS to our Google Cloud service. Google Play supplies purchase information, such as the product, purchase status, acknowledgement and cancellation/refund state. Play Integrity supplies app-authenticity, licensing and device-integrity information to help reject fraudulent requests.
Our receipt database stores a one-way digest of the purchase token, the app/product identifiers, the verification result and its time. This record is pseudonymous, not anonymous. The receipt document does not store the raw purchase token, raw Integrity token, Google account email, order number or card details. Hosting logs can contain IP/network information, request times, response codes and diagnostics.
The app keeps purchase tokens and verification state in encrypted Android storage, excluded from app backup. After reinstalling, it can restore a valid purchase automatically when you are online and using the purchasing Google Play account. Verified access can remain available offline.
Verification automatically determines whether Ad-Free is active. Confirmed cancellation or refund can remove access after an online check; an offline device cannot learn about a new refund immediately. If the result seems wrong, contact us for a review. Do not buy again merely because verification failed.
5. Support and website visits
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you send. We use these to answer your enquiry, investigate a problem or handle your privacy request. Please avoid sending sensitive project information unless needed, and never send passwords or payment-card details.
Our privacy website is hosted on GitHub Pages. Its hosting provider receives technical information when you visit, including your IP address. See GitHub's privacy statement. External websites you choose to visit have their own privacy practices.
6. Why we use information
Where the GDPR applies, our purposes and legal bases are:
- Provide requested services: fulfil and restore your purchased upgrade and handle service requests, where necessary to perform our contract with you.
- Security and reliability: investigate faults, protect purchases and prevent misuse, relying on our legitimate interests in a secure, functioning service, balanced against your rights.
- Advertising choices: rely on consent for processing that requires it, including relevant personalised-advertising and device-access activities. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing. Essential fraud/security processing may rely on legitimate interests where legally permitted; this does not override a consent requirement.
- Legal obligations: handle applicable rights requests and retain or disclose information where the law requires it.
The purchase is optional, but verification information is necessary to activate and restore it. Without successful verification, we may be unable to provide Ad-Free. Reading this policy is not consent to optional tracking.
7. Providers and international processing
Recipients include Google for payments, integrity, cloud hosting, advertising and email; Unity for advertising; the map providers above; and GitHub for website hosting. Some act on our instructions; others also process information for their own purposes under their notices. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to handle a lawful claim.
The Geoclass verification service and receipt database are configured in Google's Belgium region
(europe-west1). Other provider operations can involve processing outside the European
Economic Area, including in the United States. This is not an Ireland-only storage service.
Google describes its applicable transfer mechanisms, including adequacy arrangements and standard contractual clauses, in its transfer information; cloud processing is addressed in the Cloud Data Processing Addendum. Other providers describe their transfer arrangements in the notices linked above. Contact us if you would like information about the safeguards applicable to processing for Geoclass.
8. How long information is kept
- Local projects and settings: remain on your device until you delete them or the relevant app data. Exported/shared copies must be removed separately.
- Verification records: have no automatic expiry. We retain the minimal record while needed to support and verify the one-time entitlement or resolve a purchase dispute or fraud issue. We assess deletion requests and whether continued retention remains necessary; a lifetime purchase is not an automatic reason to refuse deletion.
- Operational logs: the project's global log-storage buckets have retention periods of 30 days and 400 days, depending on the bucket receiving the log. These logs support troubleshooting, security investigation and operational accountability. Relevant records may need to be kept while an incident, dispute or applicable legal requirement remains unresolved.
- Support messages: are retained while handling the enquiry and any related unresolved issue, dispute or legal obligation. We remove information when these purposes no longer justify keeping it.
Independent providers, including Google Play, have their own retention arrangements. Our deletion process does not delete their independent payment records.
9. Request access, correction or deletion
Email geosoft66@gmail.com with Geoclass and what you want to access, correct or delete. No account or special form is needed. Do not send passwords, card details or purchase tokens.
We handle requests personally. If more information is needed to find your data or reasonably confirm your identity, we will explain what is needed. We respond without undue delay, normally within one month. If a legally permitted extension is necessary, we explain it within the first month.
Deleting a verification record is not a refund, purchase cancellation or deletion of your Google account. Further use of purchase verification can create a new minimal record. Files held only on your device can be removed through the app or Android's app-data settings; back up anything you want to keep first.
Depending on applicable law, you may also request restriction or portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or withdraw consent. If we cannot fulfil a request, we explain why and any applicable retention requirements. You may complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission or another competent supervisory authority, and seek a judicial remedy.
10. Security, concerns and changes
Purchase verification uses HTTPS, access to the backend is restricted, and purchase state on the device is encrypted. These measures do not mean every device or service is free from security risks.
If you have a privacy concern, including one involving a child, contact us using the address above. We will review the information and the appropriate action.
We update this policy when Geoclass's practices change. The date above identifies the revised version. Where required, we provide additional notice or seek consent before new processing begins.
